ALL ABOARD THE FLORIDA QUEEN!
Climb aboard a newly restored Historic 27’ Navy Whale Boat at the Palm Beach Maritime Museum located in Currie Park, West Palm Beach, Fl., for a scenic adventure. Enjoy tales of Maritime History and see our local marine habitat up close as we cruise North along the calm waters of the Lake Worth Lagoon to Peanut Island.
Once at Peanut Island, you will step back in time to the 1930’s when the ‘Coasties’ lived and worked at the USCG barracks and Station for over 60 years. The ready boat house and Coast Guard station have been restored and are now beautifully filled with memorabilia and artifacts from those years. The highlight of your tour is the John F. Kennedy Bomb Shelter built for President Kennedy and his family during the Cuban missile crisis of the 1960’s.
On your return trip to Currie Park, you will visit the Manatee viewing area. During the winter months, January through March, there can be as many as 200 Manatee at a time swirling in the calm blue waters.
